Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now is a vehicle combat game in which you take to the streets to compete with other drivers in races that are more like battles than tests of speed. You can win by completing the race's three checkpoints within the time limit, but you can also win by smashing all of your opponents' vehicles to bits or running down every pedestrian in the level. The game's cheerful embrace of over-the-top violence made it controversial when it was released in 1998, although it seems tame in comparison to some later games.
